Our Story
For Brandon, this first date felt like any other.
For Erica, she had already set up an escape route in case the date went wrong.
Neither had expected this meeting to change their lives forever.
Erica and Brandon first met on Hinge, a dating app. They agreed to meet up at a ramen restaurant and were instantly drawn to each other through their personalities, natural charm, and conversational skills. What was supposed to be a one-hour lunch slowly grew into a 5-6 hour discussion about their life stories, testimonies, careers, and favorite boba. It was clear to both of them that there was something different here in comparison to the usual people they met and dated. Brandon would later ask out Erica officially once he realized that Erica cared about and trusted him in a special way. Erica was all too happy to agree.
Since then, Erica and Brandon have gone on a variety of dates such as solving escape rooms, completing video games, hiking hills and trails, competing in board games, sharing their favorite TV shows and movies, and trying all sorts of restaurants and boba shops along the way. Erica came to appreciate Brandon's child-like joy and honesty while Brandon came to appreciate Erica's thoughtfulness and two cats, Luna and Zora. Both Erica and Brandon came to value the unique strengths the other had, while also supporting each other's weaknesses. They celebrated each other's joys and comforted each other through disappointments.
Eventually, they both realized that this relationship was no ordinary relationship; it was one worth being in for a lifetime. They recognized the love they shared for one another and decided that they both wanted to be together forever. After picking out a ring together, Brandon popped the question in February 2023, and the rest is history.
