Suna and Erica serendipitously bumped into each other twice while moving into the college dorms freshman year and quickly became inseparable, rooming together for three years. Since then, they’ve shared innumerable adventures together like cooking for interhouse parties all night long, taking care of an animal menagerie (2 cats, 2 turtles, 2 hamsters, and a bunch of fish), and surviving Iceland and Ireland. Suna is the sister Erica always wanted: kind, loyal, fierce, and witty, and Erica is thrilled to have her as maid of honor.

Although Carrie and Erica attended the same college, the two didn’t become close until grad school where they supported each other through the woes of never-ending research and writing papers/dissertations. Due to their love for the outdoors and boba, Carrie and Erica have explored both national parks and boba shops together. Carrie’s spark for adventure, joy for life, and optimistic outlook have been an inspiration to Erica.

Elena is Erica’s favorite cousin (shhh! don’t tell!), a true sister in Christ, and role model. The two have gone from playing make believe in Erica’s impossibly small closet to eating gelato every day in Italy to celebrating graduations and now weddings and motherhood. With her wonderful laughs, level-headedness, compassion, and understanding, Elena has filled Erica’s life with love and joy.

When Erica moved to a new school in 2nd grade, Michelle approached her during recess and offered to sit next to her – they’ve been best friends ever since. Michelle and Erica were two peas in a pod spending time at each other’s houses all the time, and now, no matter how long it’s been, it’s as if no time has passed since the last time they’ve hung out. Michelle has remained the same steadfast, warmhearted, and merry friend that Erica will cherish until she’s old and grey.

Erica lucked out when Hannah was assigned her roommate in grad school – Erica gained not only a roommate but a lifelong friend. They rarely spent time in their bedrooms but hung out in the living room watching HGTV and terrible rom coms, working on fun art projects, and spending way too long on thousand-piece puzzles. Erica is thankful for Hannah’s quiet yet enduring support, dry sense of humor, and kind generosity.

Erica lucked out a second time when Carolyn became her roommate in grad school, bringing laughter and fun times. Carolyn and Erica shared tea, more terrible Hallmark rom coms, and the ups and downs of grad school with each other. Carolyn’s enthusiasm, captivating smile, and caring attitude are completely infectious and add so much cheer to Erica’s life.

Since becoming friends in elementary school at Crossroads Community Church, Matt "Carl" Hayashida has always been a close friend of Brandon's. Matt enjoys graphic design, dragons, and suggesting janky open-world survival crafting games to his friends to play. Not only has Matt done a wide variety of activities with Brandon ranging from Destination Imagination to GAS Youth Group, but Matt was also the first person to share the Gospel with Brandon, forever changing his life. Matt is not just a best man; he is a man of wisdom and reason beyond his years (though whether it's because of his thoughtfulness or gray hairs, Brandon won't say).

Gaming in high school was an important hobby of Brandon's and an integral bond between Matt and Brandon after meeting in Crossroads. Matt "Sasaki" Sasaki is a genius who channels all of that knowledge into witty memes, lawyer expertise, and sometimes both at the same time. Though Brandon does get annoyed time and time again from Matt's skilled ability to tease and confuse him, Brandon has come to appreciate Matt's directness, weirdness, and uniqueness. Despite their differences, Matt has always been an important part of Brandon's life and an excellent counsel.

Michael Mabuni, similarly to the Matt's, is one of Brandon's childhood friends from Crossroads. Michael enjoys playing games to master them, practicing guitar, and encouraging others. While Brandon's first impression of young Michael was someone who was immature and liked to troll his friends, Brandon can now confirm that Michael is an outstanding man of God who likes to be immature and troll his friends. While Michael may be playful and young at heart, Michael will always have a heart for his community and family.

Though Michael Jones may not remember meeting Brandon in the middle of a street in college, Michael has certainly had an influential role in Brandon's life. From doing Intervarsity leadership together to becoming roommates for 2 years, Michael has stuck with Brandon through many different adventures including Mark 1 Camp and Urbana. Brandon has always appreciated Michael's willingness to speak blunt truth and honesty into his life. Be sure to ask Michael about his exceptional baking skills or his inability to keep his sanity through a round of Mario Party.

Brandon may have initially met Bryan Kuh in college through Intervarsity, but it wasn't until they were roommates in their last year of college with Michael Jones and Josh Apostol when they truly bonded and grew closer as the "Apartamigos". Bryan is an avid sports fan, golf pro, and hiking enthusiast. Bryan is calm, kind, and gentle, and has been a solid pillar of emotional support for Brandon throughout their friendship. Through thick or thin, Bryan is always someone you can depend on (unless it has anything to do with providing cheesecake).

Josh Apostol continues the trend of inseparable college roommates that Brandon made in his last year of college. As the 4th "Apartamigo" (or 4th corner of a square, as Josh suggested for a group name), Josh is a loyal, kind friend to everyone and anyone, and has even "allowed" Brandon to create a game with him as the main character. Brandon appreciates that Josh cares about showing the greatest amount of respect and care to each and every person he meets. Josh remains a close friend to Brandon to this day and is beloved by all, especially by those who like to call Josh by any other name besides Josh.
